Pieninský národný park (PIENAP)

Pieniny The Pieniny are the smallest national park of Slovakia. It was established in 1967. It is one of the first international parks in Europe as well. Its unique sceneries were created by action of the river Dunajec that leads its way of 8, 5 km through the area of park. The breach Prielom Dunajca was established state reserve. Attraction of this area is a float on the wooden barges. The area of the Pieniny is woody. The animals like lynx, otters, the bird včelár obyčajný and mountain eagle-owls belong to the rare animal species of this national park.

Directly in the village Červený kláštor, there is the national cultural monument Carthusian Monastery from 14.century with the museum inside.
